How Stem Splitting Works
Our vocal splitter uses stereo phase cancellation. By subtracting the left and right audio channels, it removes information that is panned directly in the center (which is typically where lead vocals are mixed). This extracts a clean instrumental backing track. The vocal stem is processed using a speech-focused bandpass filter that emphasizes voice frequencies while cutting out bass rumbling and high percussion.
